This blog has given me great ideas in terms of color combination and product ideas as well. When I first got into the whole makeup thing I was being a little too safe. I was afraid that certain colors would not work on black skin and other worries. However this blog allowed me to open my horizons while getting some pretty and fierce ideas.

Your blog has helped me in so many ways. First and foremost, you are truly passionate about how to enhance a woman's natural beauty and you feature products that truly work. I really appreciate your honesty because you are not trying to sell us something or raving about it just because it's in style.

Your blog has also helped me to wear more colors.I only wore browns and golds and more browns and now I am venturing to purples, blues, pinks because I know that when they are worn right, they look great on WOC

thanks to your encouragements, i started doing FOTDS. For the longest time, I was afraid to do it because I thought i had no skills...not that i am an expert but i am learning so much and enjoying each step of the way.

Last but not least, your blog has helped me to go out of the MAC comfort zone and try out others brands...

Since finding your blog not too long ago, I have begun to play around with makeup a lot more. You've inspired me to do a bit more for myself cosmetic-wise. I began dabbling in makeup this past August and your blog has helped me a great deal. I have saved a number of your FOTDs. From there, I have experimented with different looks and COLOR! As a NW45 girl, I have always feared color. The few times I have seen my mother apply makeup, she has always used very conservative, dare I say, bland colors. Since reading your blog, I have begun to incorporate more colors into my looks. I have gotten a lot better with my application, also. My wallet may not be as grateful but I am very thankful for having found your blog.

let's see ;) from the moment i started reading your entries, i knew you were an 'artist' from the little side details you'd mention that i felt like hey... only true artists know to think out of the box like that.. example:... my foundation is too light... your answer-fix that with some bronzer, not always necessary to buy another foundation.

while i like, well love your looks and reviews, i'm always looking for little tidbits and side advice like that. sometimes i'll feel like i'm making stuff up until you'll mention it too, then i'll feel i'm on the right track or that i'm not crazy! thanks seymone!

oh the eyebrows were a dead give away too hahahaa! too perfect and precise not to be an artist.

I would have to say your blog has inspired me to "embrace my face" if you will. I was so excited when I found your blog. To find a woman who was similar in color to me and thus have recommendations that would actually suit ME.

I love that you list what products you use, and most importantly, that you respond to comments! You do not know how many blogs I frequent on a daily where I ask a question or just leave a positive comment and get nothing.

Your FOTD's are inspirational and motivational, and luckily you have done only minimal damage to my pocketbook (I'm looking at you NARS Jolie Poupee!)

So, as a NW45/NW47, MUFE Caramel, Bobbi Brown Chesnut turned Walnut girl... I say thank you, thank you Miss Seymone!

I had challenges using colors that would show up on my skin as vibrant as those same colors would show up on the skin of some of the other women I saw. I figured that there were just some colors that I would not be able to use and then I came across your site. You use (and very well I might add) what ever color you are feeling at the moment and you make those colors look just as good on your face as anyone else. I have shamelessly copied some of your looks and have gotten many compliments. I still have a long way to go but your blog has helped me develop my use of color and not to be afraid of color.

Thank you for sharing and good luck with the move.

In this blog, I found a sister close to my complexion (NW50) who was able to pull of some beautiful and at times daring color combination. You gave me great ideas on not only eye shadow combination but on great lip products as well. Don't even get me started on your PERFECT eyebrows...

Your reviews on MAC's primers gave me great idea on what to do for my bases. After all, for flawless makeup you need a great base to build on.

So in summary, this blog has helped me by giving me great ideas, brows to aspire to, and great product reviews.

Hi seymone,

your blog has inspired me to not be afraid of color. to express how I feel each day with any color that is available to me. When i first started to reading your blog and seeing you on specktra, i thought now that is a girl after my own heart. she is the same skin tone as me and she looks good adding color to her life. and that is how i want to look to the world. but my only problem is i can not afford it. You have opened my mind in to trying new cosmetic lines, and i thought women of my complexion could not wear. and i thank you for that. Seymone your blog helps me realize that i should not be afraid to wear what i want. Also i should not be afraid to express my self with color. I thank you everyday for creating this blog.

Seymone!! Your awesome blog has helped me in too many ways to count...to be honest it has helped me in one way that i will forever be in my memory. i always loved makeup and the way it would look on people, but never on myself...only because i felt as though i could never wear the vibrant colors that people with a lighter skin tone could...i grew up the darkest skin complexion of all my friends and mainly in my family so i always felt a sense of isolation in physical apperance from others...your blog has not only thought me that i can be truly, truly comfortable in my self and skin tone, but that a whole nother world has been opened to me as far as colors and styles that i can use on my eyes and lips...instead of sticking to the regular browns and gold, with clear lip gloss... your blog has taught me that there is so much more for women of color that i could have ever dreamed and i appreciate it more than you will ever imagine...thank you and keep the fabulous coming...♥

After seeing your face as one of Scandalous beauty follows I wanted to check out your blog. I love coming on your blog to see what you come with up next. I've always been the girl to own make up and not wear it. But after reading your blog and seeing how flawless you looked it made me see that i was cheating myself every time I was going to my audition and not looking the best that I could. I was always so shy about wear the bold colors on my lips. Saving to buy better brands. But now I'm wearing reds and taking the time do my hair when i go to the store. Looking fabulous always you never know who you can run into. Thank you.
